ExtractAlpha and AlphaSense – finding value in financial text

At ExtractAlpha we have long believed that intelligent analysis of text data from a wide variety of sources is one of the most promising frontiers in alternative data research for investment management.  Although there are quite a few vendors offering analysis of text data feeds from such sources as Twitter and news, relatively few have focused on more traditional, but surprisingly less explored, text sources.

As such we are excited to announce a new partnership with AlphaSense.  AlphaSense offers a unique search engine designed for financial text, including regulatory filings, earnings transcripts, and broker research, using a blend of advanced linguistic search and natural language processing algorithms.  They have successfully marketed their product to the discretionary portfolio manager market, and we look forward to working with them in exploring the value of their technology for quantitative managers as well.

Stay tuned for news about our search for alpha in these exciting new data sets!
